Great Childrens parties Hampshire – A review of Ozzy Wizzpop

I booked children’s magician Ozzy Wizzpop for my sons 6th birthday party as he has become infatuated with magic after watching Dynamo on the TV. He did want Dynamo to turn up but I told him that he wasn’t free that day and instead sent his friend (well were parents, were all allowed to tell a few fibs). Josh was very excited to have Ozzy Wizzpop coming to his party.

First mention must go to his crazy pet monkey bonkers. We all loved bonkers and the way he caused chaos throughout the party. Before he even got bonkers out of the bag we were warned that any bad behaviour caused by his pet monkey was not he is fault and was all down to his crazy puppet. This was a lovely introduction for the children as they all believed he was a real monkey. With his great portrayal of this sometimes us adults almost forgot that it was a puppet as well. A real beautiful interpretation.

I thought that the show was really funny and I’ve not seen Josh laugh that much for a long time. The whole room erupted in chuckles often throughout the performance and it takes a lot of skill to achieve this and I was very impressed with the way Ozzy was able to do this. He was able to produce sounds from his amplifier at the exact times throughout the show which seemed really clever and I’m not too sure how we did it. I did want to ask him but I believe the magician never reveals his secrets.  Oh I well I will just believe in the magic this time.

What I thought was good about the show was the fact that Ozzy brought up a lot of children throughout.   They all seemed really excited about coming up on stage to help him out and this really boosted the enjoyment levels for the children. Josh came up on stage three times throughout the performance and was absolutely riveted with excitement about this. He has not stopped talking about it for the whole week.  Ozzy really made his day. And to top it off at the end of the party he presented Josh with a great big balloon monkey that he absolutely adores and it sits in prime position in his bedroom.

For great children’s parties Hampshire Book Ozzy Wizzpop.

Ozzy does his magic

I’m occasionally asked by parents what games I do in my parties and it’s always a bit of a mouth full to explain so I have wrote this for greater clarity. To begin with, none of my games are elimination based which means no one is ever ‘out’. This ensures all the children are engaged throughout and are not going to become bored which is very important to me. On to the games!

Character statues
I tell the children to dance and when the music stops to freeze and impersonate a well known character (superheroes, Disney princesses etc). I’ll pick the most creative one each time ensuring that everyone wins. If there are a lot of children, I’ll pick multiple winners each time so by the end they have all won.
Why it’s good
– The children enjoy being on their feet, if they don’t want to pretend to be a character they will usually just  freeze normally so they still feel involved. It’s  easy to understand and we can play it instantly. The children are never bored in this game and are always riveted throughout. It’s been so good over the years.
