Childrens Birthday Party Ideas in Northumberland

There is more to a Northumberland birthday than soft play and a bowling alley. These are the party ideas parents tell me their kids still talk about months later.

Alnwick

A Party in the World’s
Biggest Play Village

Your group gets an exclusive decorated party hut underneath the world’s largest play structure, with your own Party Elf as guide for the day. At least two hours of play, a birthday trail across the village and its eight clans, party food in a Lilidorei munch box and a gift picked by the elves for the birthday child. Aimed at 4 to 11 year olds, minimum ten children.

Druridge Bay

Paddleboarding Party
on the Lake

A proper adventure party on Ladyburn Lake run by a local watersports charity. The kids get kitted out in wetsuits and buoyancy aids, then it is two hours of paddleboards, sit on top kayaks and the eight person Mega SUP, usually finishing with jetty jumping. Weather permitting there are picnic benches by the water for the cake afterwards.

Ozzy Wizzpop

With over 100 five-star reviews, Ozzy Wizzpop is the busiest children’s entertainer in the North East, and it’s easy to see why with magic, puppets and party games. Based in Bedlington, so Northumberland is home turf.

Ponteland

A Zoo Party with a
Private Reptile Encounter

A hidden gem tucked away on the Kirkley Hall estate. The zoo party gives you time to look round on your own, then a private handling session in the Discovery room with reptiles, amphibians and bugs, and a classroom of your own for the party food. For ages 5 and over. Smaller groups can book the zookeeper day instead, ten until four shadowing a keeper, for up to eight children aged 6 and over.

Morpeth

Fun Farm
Party

A big family run farm just south of Morpeth with a whole menu of party packages, from hands on animal interactions with small fluffy animals and reptiles to a roar-some dinosaur party. Every package comes with a party host and a birthday tea in the Hungry Pig Cafe, and the group can stay on and enjoy the farm for the rest of the day.

Cramlington

Indoor Climbing
Wall Party

A Clip ‘n Climb arena of brightly coloured walls, where the kids can take on the challenges and race each other to the top. An active party that burns off plenty of energy, right in the middle of Cramlington. Parties are arranged directly with the centre team by email rather than booked online. Kids will really enjoy this.

Hexham

Paint Your Own
Pottery Party

A calmer, creative option in the heart of Hexham. The children spend the afternoon painting their own pottery in a party room of your own, and take the finished piece home once it has been fired.
